Spiky Grass

“Spiky Gras” is a fictional story that follows the history of a particularly spiky type of grass and sheds light on the influence it has had on the History of France, the country it originates from. Spiky Gras is native to the Pyrenes but it has, amongst others, had an influence on the French Revolution and been a strong rival of the Eiffel Tower. “Spiky Gras” is an original story by Maurice Schaack, read by Nils Arndt and illustrated with images that were generated by Midjourney.

The Noorderplantsoen
A short video showing the beauty of the Noorderplantsoen in Groningen.

The Noordernplantsoen is one of the most popular green areas in Groningen. It was created in 1874 when the old fortifications around the city were turned into an English garden-style park. The old ramparts were turned into little hills and the moats into ponds to make a beautiful park. Today it is a popular spot for students to be surrounded by greenery and to enjoy the sun. A true green lung in the middle of the city.

A short video showing the beauty of the weekly market in Groningen.

The weekly market is located at the Vismarkt. You can find the classics here: fruit, vegetables, fish, meat, bread etc., but also more extra things like clothes, spices or exotic food. Fun fact: archaeologists found clues that lead them to believe that the Vismarkt already existed during Roman times.
